7th Pay Commission: 3-time fitment factor hike for Central govt employee

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The perceptions and assumptions related to the further hike in the basic pay of the Central government employees under the 7th Pay Commission is likely to come to an end with the government reportedly mulling to take a final call on the demands of the employees in April this year.
Meanwhile, reports are there that the government is planning to increase the basic pay of the Central government employees by raising the fitment factor 3 times.
However, the employees have been demanding to hike the fitment factor 3.68 times from the existing 2.57 times. The employees are currently getting Rs 18,000 which they want the government to increase to Rs 26,000.
