Sir,
Sub: - GDS to PA and also LGO examination – qualification prescribed for the computer test – request to remove the conditions – regarding.
Ref: - Union letter no. P/4-3/Examination dated 27.09.2019.
The Department has prescribed 75% mark for the computer knowledge in the GDS to PA examination held on 15.9.2019 which is not practically feasible to the existing GDS and it will mar the fair chances of the GDS candidates a large.
It is pertinent to mention that in the case of LGOs to PAs, the computer test has been removed last time and instead of that during the induction training period the successful candidates will be imparted with computer training for one hour daily for 15 days. Similar yardstick may be adopted in the case of GDS also.
Further, in no LDCE examination such a higher percentage of qualifying marks have been prescribed and it will never be above 40%. If the above condition is not removed, most of the announced vacancies could not be filled up with the GDS. In the existing shortage of staff, and the delay on the recruitment through SSC, the vacancies unfilled due to the tough computer skill test will cause unbearable work brunt. The computer training may be imparted at the time of induction training and the GDS may be exempted from the skill test.
Further it is learnt that the concession extended in the earlier examination viz. from LGO to PA conducted on 9.12.2018 by cancelling the Computer Skill Test for the Postmen/MTS candidates and ordered to impart computer training at PTCs for the selected candidates, during their induction training will not be applicable this time in the LGO examination held on 15.9.2019 and the same is applicable as a onetime exercise for the exam.
It is therefore requested to kindly consider the above and cause action to exempt the LGO and GDS appeared in the PA examination on 15.9.2019 from the computer skill test and cause relaxation in order to fill up the vacant posts which is nearing 30% in the PA cadre
A line in reply about the action taken is highly appreciated
Yours Sincerely,
(R. N. Parashar)
